Online Degrees in Technology


Many accredited, well-respected universities now offer degree programs online. Below is a listing of some top online degree programs in the technology fields. I have included links to each program as well as the types of degrees and specialties that each program focuses on. 1. Colorado Technical University

Colorado Technical University has been around since 1965, with campus locations throughout Colorado. They are well accredited (ABET and CHEA accredited, among others). The University offers both Bachelors and Masters degree programs online. The online degree offerings include a Bachelors of Science in Information technology, with concentrations in Network Management, Security, and Software Systems Engineering. They also offer online a Masters of Science in Management degree with concentrations in either Systems Security or Technology Management. As of this writing, the total cost for either degree is approximately $29,000.00 in tuition (not including books or other fees).

2. Ellis College of the New York Institute of Technology

Ellis College is the online degree program for the New York Institute of Technology. Their Bachelors degrees are available for Computer Science; Electronics and Information Security; Telecommunications Network Management and Information Technology (with concentrations in Information and Network Security, Interactive Multimedia, and Telecommunications). Ellis College also offers Masters Degree programs online. There is a MS, Computer Science as well as MBA programs with specializations in E-Commerce, Management of Informations Systems, or Management of Technology. 3. South University

South University was establishe din 1899 and currently has 5 different campus locations. They are accredited and offer a online Bachelors degree program in information Technology. The degree can be customized by concentrating in general information technology, database administration, network administration or web management.

4. Virginia College Online

Virginia College Online offers accredited Bachelors and Masters degree programs. Their current degree programs include a Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems or Network Management. The advanced degree currently offered is a Masters in Cybersecurity. Virginia College Online is part of an eleven Virginia College campus system. Fees include textbooks and course materials.

5. AIU - American Intercontinental University

American Intercontinental University (AIU) has campuses throughout the US and overseas. Their online degree programs that AIU offers include Bachelor of Information Technology with concentrations available in Computer Forensics, Computer Systems, Internet Security, Network Administration and Programming. They also offer a Masters of Information Technology degree, with concentrations available in Internet Security or IT Project Management. Each of the degree programs cost approximately $30,000 for the entire degree. There are also options for dual degree programs.

6. Walden University

Walden University offers several online degree programs. Walden offers Masters Degree programs in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering and Systems Engineering. They also offer online certificate programs. Walden University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. Current fees are available for the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The University does offer financial aid. Admission to the program requires an undergraduate degree from an accredited university with a minimum 2.9 GPA.

7. Capella University

Capella University offers several online degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Their undergraduate offerings include Information Assurance and Security, General Information Technology, Network Technology, Project Management (Information Technology, Software Architecture and Graphics & Multimedia.) Capella offers graduate degree programs in Information Technology, with specializations in Information Security, General Information Technology, Health Information Management, Network Architecture and Design, Project Management and Leadership and System Design and Development.
