Kelly Clarkson National Anthem Time: 1:34 (according to MSF’s calculations)
Note: We based ours calculation from the first note she sang to the final note of “brave.” The average of Clarkson’s last three solo renditions of the National Anthem at big sporting events is 1:32. The over-unders MSF saw were all set at 1:34, which was the length of her most recent rendition of last year’s World Series. We’ll see where she finishes at tonight.

Kelly Clarkson National Anthem Super Bowl Review

We had high expectations since all of Kelly Clarkson’s National Anthem performances have all been fabulous. Luckily for us, tonight was no different.
There were no mistakes or signs of trouble – the complete opposite of Christina Aguilera’s infamously botched anthem. Clarkson belted out the Star-Spangled Banner in her usual confident demeanor, showing that she still has a commanding stage presence after being discovered years ago on American Idol.

Reactions to Kelly Clarkson National Anthem Super Bowl

Twitter users – celebs and the general public alike – loved her, too.
Pink said Clarkson “KiLleD the national anthem. Show em’ how it’s done girl!!!!”
Singer Chris Daughtry had this to say, “I dare to say that @kelly_clarkson just sang THE best national anthem of all time!” What a bold statement!
Skater Kristi Yamaguchi thought she was great, as did America the Beautiful singer Miranda Lambert.
Otherless-famous people seemed as pleased with Clarkson’s rendition as well.
While I don’t know if tonight’s performance was the best national anthem ever, Clarkson did do an excellent job. The powers that be made a good choice in deciding to hand the mic to Clarkson for this year’s Star-Spangled Banner.
